one thing i did find out the very hard way though. when your characters die too often and become injured and you need to use an item (injury kit) to restore them. but you NEED to do it through the 'potions' option from within the radial menu. going into the 'useable items' in your inventory only shows you what items are 'useable' but doesn't actually allow you to use anything. it's going to be nice to play again with a tank that has a higher constitution than 11. |

I just completed Dragon Age .. I sort of regretted my decision to play a casteless dwarf warrior. I went with 2h weapons and there are 2 other characters you get in your party who also does that.
I wish I'd gone with a melee rogue or mage instead. I guess a sort of battle mage would be my choice if I was gonna play it again because while there is Morrigan, I didn't bring her along much because she was irritating and didn't like me being nice. I used Wynne a lot, but she was more healer/buffer the way I played her so mage with a lot of offensive spells is really the thing I didn't play. And it seems like a fun char to play as well To Boo, I haven't tried Gears of War 2 but it's nice to hear you like it. If you're hungry for more third person shooters, you should have a look at Dead Space It's a sci-fi horror adventure that takes place on a giant orbital mining station/ship with lots of hostile creatures where you're alone much of the time. It has excellent atmosphere - it really feels dark and lonely - and the game is just loads of fun. It doesn't quite motivate so much at the very start, but like half an hour in and many hours on until the end, it is brilliant.

Boo Boo should play Uncharted. It's got platforming, puzzles, colorful environments and tons of duck-cover. It may make him think twice the next time he says PS3 has no good games.

They look good, but I'd rather see you go off in a fanboy rage so here's some more Yahtzee videos. The Escapist : Video Galleries : Zero Punctuation : Uncharted: Drake's Fortune The Escapist : Video Galleries : Zero Punctuation : Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Dont worry, I don't actually take this guy seriously or anything. |

i'm going through with a human rogue and my roommate is playing an elf mage. he finds the mage can be really powerful with spells but you have to be very careful when attacking. at level 11-12 he's still only using the weakest healing potions to completely refill himself. so it really depends on your play style i guess. you really need to like the radial menu and pausing combat a lot if you want to be a successful offensive mage from the look of things. i also don't think it's possible to create a character type that won't be duplicated in your party. personally i like the idea of 2 rogues in the group, makes for lots of backstabbing goodness when the fighter can threaten enemies into focusing on him. |

Alistair is easy to set up as a good tank, I guess. Then Leliana and Zevran as rogues could do a lot of damage - or you could switch one of them for another warrior - probably Oghren - if you think you need a backup tank. Wynne for healing/offensive spells.
I'd do something like that and just make a char to replace one of them. I'd probably like to replace Wynne with my own mage, but rogue seems fun too. With paralyze runes on and a double weapon spec setup, they must be deadly (there's that talent that let's them backstab stunned/paralyzed/prone enemies)

it's definitely an interesting game though, i think a 2nd playthrough will make or break the replayability of the title though. i'm curious to see just how much effect my 'choices' have on the world. like the claims that a town would be in ruins the next time i visited if i left it from the same way i entered it. etc. |

I just got Dragon Age with my brother but unfortunately I have to wait for my graphics card to arrive before I can get to playing. I think I have a level 1 human rogue on his comp though and it seems like a pretty cool class to play.
Also I've said this before but I'm also really looking forward to playing Borderlands with some friends once I get my graphics card. |
