But that was just a creature that happened upon a guy to eat. The raptors made it their goal to eat everyone and came damn near close to realizing that dream. The Dilophosaurus scene wasn't nearly as terrifying as the raptors eating the cow, or tricking Muldoon with the "clever girl" scene, or the scene with Ellie after she switched on the power.
And the opening of the movie was ****ing insane. I mean **** they were one of horror's great monsters. And OMG then there was the scene with the kids in the kitchen. How the **** are you going to be more scared of the Dilophosaurus than the Velociraptors?! God damn it now I gotta go watch Jurassic Park.

They've all been weak after the first so what's your point?

They were awesome. But they were awesome because they bridged the horror of monsters trying to eat you with humans who could outsmart you.

Kid me didn't even get that they were supposed to be super smart. I was more like "lol, he headbutted a reflection, I want action figure, teehee."
The ghost face killer from Scream ****ed me up way more. Especially that part in Scream 2 where the guy gets pulled into a van and sliced up in the middle of a busy campus in broad daylight. Probably shouldn't have watched that when I was like seven or some ****.

No slasher movie has ever scared me. And definitely not a Scream movie. The first Halloween is probably the closest and I was too old when I saw it to be anything more than vaguely unnerved.
But come on is not the raptor cow scene horrifying with showing the raptors' killing instinct as a force of nature?
