Now that I’m in a sad post Spider-Man world I wanted a repetitive timesink until I find another narrative game to immerse myself in, so I picked up Dead Cells on my Switch. I think I’ve seen Ki talking about it. Game is an awesome roguelike with fun platforming elements. I love the variety and various different ways to play

TFW you've finished Arkham Origins and Arkham Asylum and now it's time to replay City. The amount of Batman I've imbibed in the past few weeks, both in game and comic form, makes my rock hard heart throb. Now I just need to figure out if I start a new game or go for new game+. I've already got all the Riddler trophies in my old game which I'd want to do again, but I also want to play with the Batman Beyond skin.

Been playing Tenchu: Fatal Shadows since I bought it. Holy **** is it great. Hard, but (mostly) fair, and a fucktillion items to play around with (favorite so far is the poison onigiri, which makes whoever eats it puke ). Brutal and satisfying stealth kills, constant tension since you don't get checkpoints, and fun lateral mobility with a grappling hook that can latch on to most surfaces. The combat is touchy and unpredictable, but that's fine, since the main chars aren't supposed to be Kratos, and just rushing blindly into a group of enemies would historically be the supidest ****ing thing a ninja could do.

Combat is definitely something to avoid, but the fun is in being careful and never getting seen anyway. The boss battles aren't so hard once you figure out a couple of helpful tricks. Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven on PS2 is also great, but waaaaay harder. |

I'm getting pretty good at it. I may or may not shout "Death from above, muthafuka!" every time I roll Rin off of a roof right onto someone's head and then do her weird aerial skull shattering pro-wrestling stealth kill.
Edit: Oh, also, I lol'd pretty hard when I learned that you can skip the boss fight with that pervy blind masseuse guy, and just stab him in the dick through the floor from the basement.

Are you kidding? I didn't know you could do that. Maybe I should fire it up again one of these days soon. It's been a few years since I last played through it.
Also, one fateful day, I might go on a ramble about why Shinobidy: Way of the Ninja (also on the PS2) is both a broken mess and one of my top 5 favourite games on the entire platform. |
