Divinity II: Developer's Cut Because I don't have an RPG to play at the moment, I decided it was time to pick up Divinity II. If you remember in my journal, I said that this showed up on my queue and I was eager to play it. Well, I bought it. I'm only through the tutorial but god damn, I am becoming more and more impressed with Larian Studios. I mean, DoS2 is still one of my all time favorite gaming experiences. This however takes the look of a third person RPG along the lines of Fable. It does show its age in some ways, but in other ways it really shows a dedication to making it feel good. I will probably end up finishing this one and it's rare for me to finish an RPG. But I have to always give Larian Studios all the credit for always keeping to what they know - quality. |

Playing Pyre by Supergiant Games (their other titles so far being Bastion and Transistor). Highly recommended for its gorgeous artstyle, fantastic sound design, and remarkably unique gameplay. You play as a band of prisoners basically who have to participate in the “Rites” to be given back your freedom. The Rites are basically a fantasy sport, where you try to get an orb into the enemy team’s pyre. You get 9 characters throughout the game with defined personalities and unique playstyles in the Rites. There are RPG elements and fantastic storytelling at play as well. Overall an incredible experience that I would recommend to literally anyone.

Keep an eye on it on Steam. I'm playing on PS4 but I got it on sale for like $8. In terms of ratio of quality to what I spent it's one of the best deals I've ever gotten on a game.
