It has a lot of the teenage protagonist schtick you're probably used to but it's also one of the series if not the absolute core series that popularized that schtick, but because of this it's also not beholden to the rules. It's not a shonen anime genre show, it's a trend setter and there's a very good reason why it set trends. Because the teen warrior fighting a war was engaging and original enough to wow people into ruining the idea.
I'm definitely ready for some anime that's about adults and not about insecure 14 year olds that somehow are the only ones that can save the world.

Which reminds me. Did you ever get around to watching Paprika?

I'm still waiting till I'm high. I feel that I'd be wasting the opportunity to watch it the first time if I wasn't blazed as ****. After that I can watch it as many times as I want but I'll not watch it the first time without a solid bowl behind me.

I'm crossing fingers you'll like it when you get around to it. Definitely top 5 anime material for me. Although I probably shouldn't hype it too much.

For some reason I feel like asking if you've watched Voices from a Distant Star? I know you love Gunbuster so I suppose you'd have interest.

Gunbuster was the first anime I ever watched, so it's got a special place in the weeb section of my heart.

Never watched Voices From a Distant Star. I feel like I've heard the title before several times, so it must be fairly well known.

It's got the same time displacement plot of Gunbuster, but in a much more condensed sense. It was also created by one single person and is a pretty amazing show of just what one person can do with animation. It's only 25 minutes long though so you don't need to invest any time.

Yup. Played both. They're not fantastic. Still had some fun with them, though.

I'm already playing Stardew, but my brother told me about this and it looks really fun.

^Graveyard Keeper looks great.

Death Road To Canada

Sometimes there are games that come out and I see them, and at first I'm just like "eh". But then later on I realize that I never actually played the game. Talking in the Oregon Trail thread, I mentioned that this game from what I could tell at the time looked and seemed like an Oregon Trail spiritual successor. And well, I still think that. The game does a really good job at not only bringing in originality, but it still has that Oregon Trail charm that we all know. I'd say Death Road To Canada from what I've experienced so far feels like a This War of Mine meets The Oregon Trail. You have to fight off enemies when you go searching for supplies and you have to make a lot of pit stops along the way to gather supplies and get better weapons and possibly new members of your group. So far, I've done 3 runs and I've lost my whole group completely. Keep in mind I've only put about an hour into the game but I'm already loving it for its charm and originality. And the soundtrack is great too.

The combat and gameplay and everything are so much fun. Def recommend.

Replaying Red Dead Revolver on the PS2. Good times, even if it was always kind of a clunky game. That intro is still one of my favorites. Perfectly sets the tone, and dat fuzz guitar:

Also, holy ****, I forgot how much Bonnie from the second game is just Annie.
