How deep is the customization? Can I do it RPG style and essentially create specific mech classes that can be viable if played correctly? Or am I just figuring out how to make a mech shoot the best?

You can build a slow mech that turns poorly, aims poorly, but packs a punch and has all sorts of missile defences. A mech that's all about long range auto aiming or maybe a mech built for strafing around with mid ranged guns. It's not only the weapons and movement related units (legs, boosters) that affects how your mech plays. It's also targeting computers, energy generators and varying sorts of special equipment like scanners and lock-on scramblers. There's a huge amount of freedom in how you combine these things, but also a lot of tradeoffs you have to make, since your machine can only carry so much weight and euqipment burns varying degrees of energy and weapons have quite limited ammo. You can take your own play style into consideration, while also trying to figure out an approach that would work well for a mission that's giving you trouble. The solutions I found for tricky missions will probably differ from yours. |

The emoji overcame my second thoughts. Damn it I was supposed to be frugal with my money. I got blindsided a bit ago by a $100 Amazon Prime renewal. I guess I was drunk when I got a free trial last year. Thankfully the game was $8 with shipping.

I never bothered reading up on what Prime even is. Is it worth it at all? I buy a few CD's each month, but rarely more than that, so I figured that I wouldn't benefit from some sort of membership.

No it is not worth it. There are a bunch of random benefits that 99.999% of people wouldn't give the slightest **** about but the only real benefit most people would care about is free 2-day shipping. It's sweet don't get me wrong nobody wants to wait a week for a package, but a surprise $100 bill kind of killed the enjoyment.

I try to not order from amazon if I can help it. If you don't have prime they will sit on the package at their sorting facility for a week.
You can usually find a better deal on ebay anyways.

Waiting a full week rather than two days sucks but it's not worth the money afaic. And I don't even know what Twitch Prime is even for, I still had to pay for the few movies I watched on Amazon, I read physical books, and paying for digital music unless it's Bandcamp is for scrubs.
