You do realize the game is not an adaptation of the books, right ? That the Witcher books, translated to dozens of languages and sold in millions of copies, were mere inspiration for the game devs, who wrote their own story using the characters and world created to tell a slightly different story ?
It's a bit like ****ting on George Lucas because "Pod Racer" had a mediocre story ;) There's plenty of reasons to **** on Lucas without making a point as ridiculous as this one.

Also I have to say, there are few games that are as well written as the Witcher, especially the 3rd part - but you'd have to actually play them to understand. I have yet to see a game that would make the player as emotional as W3, at certain points in the story.

Bah, I'm not getting paid for this, so I'll end here.

hell, i got triggered... but seriously, it's either masterful trolling or pure ignorance of the topic that did it.

ehhh I get where Mic is coming from. a good game storyline vs a good film storyline has no real comparison. obviously a big part of this is a film being entirely story driven while a game has to account for gameplay and the like. of course there are games with good storylines, but there is a reason why there has never been a good crossover from a movie being based around a game. it’s because when the gameplay elements are taken out, it starts to fall apart.

just my two cents. the witcher 3 was ok to me, i didn’t finish it either though. really digging the new GoW atm though, the start of the game almost had me tearing up.

I can think of a couple videogames based on movies that are good but i can't think of any movie based on a videogame that is good.

I heard they were making a Portal movie. Don't know how that is gonna work.

Well then the game's script writer is terrible.
