And if you place a good story over mechanics, then just go read a fucking book. Gameplay and mechanics come first in games. Always have and always will. They're the whole fucking point of playing games in the first place, the things that make them a unique form of art and entertainment. A fun game with a crappy story can still be amazing. A crappy game with a good story is worthless, since nobody is going to suffer through that shit to find out what happens next. At most they'll just pull up an LP on youtube. And at that point, it's no longer a game. It's a mediocre movie with load times.

I mean, there are games that are literally just an interactive story, and I've got nothing against that. But most games rely on the gameplay. I'm kinda old school, so I just want the story to go away entirely. In too many games, the story is tripping up the pacing. Not to mention how video game stories are retardedly bad compared to real books and movies. |

Also i never said story comes 1st over good mechanics but since NV basically has the same mechanics as 3 and the dialogue options and branching paths are better in NV imo i prefer it over 3. There was no need to throw the game rules book at me bro, I actually agree with ya on that point.
