So you rather play Diablo 2 than to play PoE which is free. Hmmm.

i have this weird thing where even if an old game is far superior to a newer one in the series, i’ll still usually play the newer one instead.

fallout 3 is like a billion times better than 4 but when i have the urge i still play 4, same with diablo. from what i’ve played 2 seems better but i’ve logged like a week longer in d3.

The simple answer is to play New Vegas.

3 is largely empty and after you finish all the things there is not a single reason to ever play it again. NV is highly populated with better locations, the desert being a nuclear wasteland just works, the decisions you make are more intelligent and actually mean something, there is so much to do that I've still not done everything, the weapons are far better and more varied, the companions are fantastic as opposed to being "perfectly nice", and the story is actually interesting. The only thing 3 has over New Vegas is the DC ruins.
