Besides I got the Wii knowing full well that the really good games would be the first and second party games, that's really all I care about. Quality > Quantity |

I disagree with you on this one I'm pretty thankful games are getting more realistic while at the same time keeping that feeling of escapism.
I'd rather take this... Over this any day. |

Well duh, you intentionally picked a good game as one example and a lousy game as another.
Heres a more fair comparison. Instead of this. I'd rather play this. Moving on. |

No I haven't.
And I never said it was bad, I even said I was making a more fair comparison. Everyone says it's a great game, I'll take their word for it, it's just not my kinda game. For one. Third person shooters are not my thing, your characters block part of the screen and when I of all conceivable things am in the way, I consider that a flaw. |

I really couldn't care about how cute or cartoony a game is, but a sense of atmosphere is completely necessary and alot of the more mediocre realistic games that get pumped out don't accomplish this. But I would say when they get it right the experience is better than any retro game.
Having said that I did love "Sonic 3 and Knuckles" on my computer when I was a little fella. Me and my sister used to do co-op with sonic and tails and play for hours and hours. The lack of a save option made for some pretty intense sessions. Quote:
Actually, they would all be in my running for best game ever. |

1 + 2 were my favourite games of all time but it won't cater to that crowd... Its gonna try and win over with graphics and virtually be a shooter IMHO... Despite its predecessors being turn-based... And the virtual non-existence of turn-based games better be on the list boo boo Much of a PC gamer? |
