even jackson's failures are still interesting, King Kong may not be on the same level as LOTR but who could make 4 three hours epics in a row and have them all succeed.

No it didn't. Good effects and acting, better than the orignal with the rapist looking kong.

Nothing beats the original. It had charm by the bucketload. Brilliant film.

It was made in 1933 and was a monumental achievement in special effects in it's day. Films over a certain age may well look dated but if you take into in account that stop motion was in it's infancy, you can then appreciate the film. Look beyond it's shortcomings and find a rich and rewarding film.
