i disagree...in my opinion ifsomeone finds the movie refrencing a post-9/11 society they're trying to hard to find a message in the film

Gee thanks.

I'm reffering to multiple scenes. The townhall meeting, where the extras chant "NO MORE DEAD COPS!", the ship scene where the biggest, meanest looking black convict gets up and tosses out the detonator saying "Ima do what you shoulda done 10 minutes ago", Rachels final scenes. The ridiculously charicatured black gangsters at the beginning of the film. Hardly 10 minutes could pass without some cheesy dialogue sneaking into the film.

I disagree, if you don't see a blatant and clear comment on post-9/11 society you're either an idiot or willingly closing your eyes to the blunt message Nolan is trying to beat you over the head with. "Bat sonar" clearly parallels the ever increasing invasions of privacy by government institutions in the name of keeping us safe from terrorists (like The Joker), the film even calls the Joker a terrorist. The Joker embodies everything we don't understand about Middle Eastern terrorists. We're told that they commit heinous acts because they hate our freedom, the Joker causes chaos because it's part of his world philosophy, and equally incomprehensible. There are a thousand more parallels and they're equally intentional. Saying that someone is "looking to hard for a message in a film" is a cop out and a lame justification for your shallow and superficial understanding of cinema.

What film knowledge?

I also liked how you completely ignored my criticisms of Nolan's camerawork and use of monologue to explain character intentions.

And with that you ignored every single retort I offered to your rebuttals. Great technique, it saves you from actually having to think or formulate your own opinion.

Yes. See, I have an opinion and you have an opinon. I posted my opinion first, you then quoted me and made clear that my opinion and your opinion were in conflict and asked me to clarify my position. I clarified my position, at which point you again made clear that our opinions were in conflict and offered direct criticisms of my criticisms of the film. I replied by defending my opinions and all the while offering a direct and pointed attack on your opinions. You then took the easy way out by totally ignoring what I've said.

As far as I can tell the ball is in your court pal.

I liked christian bale's performance better in batman begins. This time he was much more one dimensional. Not to say that Dark Night wasn't awesome - it was a just a very different kind of movie. Batman begins was inspiring, moving and involving. Dark Night was fr**kin rockin, scarey, cool and creepy all at once. Both among my favorite movies.

I feel like the only person who didn't find his voice a big deal at all.
