Finally got round to watching this the other day, and I can say that it genuinely deserves the reputation it has. Never thought I'd find myself putting it in the same post as the other one I've seen lately... I fell asleep for about a quarter of an hour something like halfway through. Too long, too boring and far from Scorsese's best, but Daniel Day Lewis' performance really elevates it and made it worth watching. Definitely one of my favourite movie villains, even if he is surrounded by mediocre dross and Leo DiCaprio's hilarious excuse for an Irish accent. |

^^I watched Cannibal Holocaust once, long time ago and I don't think I wanna see it ever again.
As for Gangs of New York, you're spot on. Very boring movie, except for Daniel Day Lewis, who was hammy, but extremely entertaining. Leonardo DiCaprio cracks me up when he tries to play tough.
