So there I was, thinking that having an anime marathon would be a good idea, so I watched these li'l nuggets earlier today...
Looked like it was gonna develop into that timeless, cliched-as-hell dual-personality killer ending, at which point I found myself wondering whether I was watching a good film or not, and then the ending came. In that sense, this film had me 100% fooled. Great stuff, even if the English dubbing was atrocious. Very slow, and not much of a plot to speak of, but still a really fascinating film all the same, and one that really humanises the affect of WW2 on the side that a lot of war movies I've seen show it happening to don't. Again, top-drawer stuff. And this one was just absolutely badass, simple as. |
