As for The Others, I've seen it when it came out not knowing anything about it or about the twist. I just knew it was supposed to be some haunting house story. Yeah, it's just a mystery/thriller, but, imo, one executed with an inspiration. Compared to many similar films I've seen, new and old, this one breaths with suspense that goes beyond cheap tricks, but steams from the characters. I've seen this film couple times more after I already knew the twist and it holds up every time. That's because, to me, this film is very emotional without being sentimental. It's a horror mixed with grief and sorrow and with no resolution. I can't think of a worse hell for Nicole Kidman's character.

I thought The Others was pretty great too. Very creepy and as you said quite emotional too.

Very much agreed. Kidman was really exceptional in it.

And I definitely prefer it to The orphanage. Both good films, but while The orphanage faded pretty soon from my memory, The others are still pretty vivid in my mind.

And it does hold up really well to repeat viewings.

The film seemed to start off a bit boring but as it went on it got more and more intense, engaging and disturbing. It's a very well written film with a superb performance from Natalie Portman. It was a bit confusing at times but everything fell into place and made sense at the end of the film, leaving you with a really ****ed-up feeling. Great film.

the Matrix influence was annoying but the film was full of eye candy and the soundtrack was phenomenal....

Crimes of the Future - very unsettling film, but not bad.

Tron looks like the type of movie that's MADE by people I hate FOR people I hate.

Anyway, I'm about to watch the third one!

I have high hopes. This could be my favourite trilogy of all time.

Please do elaborate. (:

OT: Speed racer

Just as brilliant as the first time I watched it. It's everything Tron hoped it could be...on crack. It will be my everlasting regret that I never got to see it the way it was made to be seen, on a huge screen and in 3D. Can't wait for what they'll come up with next...
