^I haven't seen that one. I just read the synopsis and yeah I can see how it could be easily fucked up.

Much better than I expected but despite the glowing reviews, it is not entirely faultless. The plot itself is a little convoluted and the film seems to have a couple of endings before it's end.

However the use of Boston locales as described in the novel and use of local untrained actors and some local vernacular definitely pushes the film in terms of authenticity and the performances are exemplary

Some of the set pieces are simply superb and the moral centre of the film is deliciously skewed asking you the viewer questions instead of providing answers.

Ben Affleck (writer/director) gets a lot flack for his acting ability but boy oh boy does he have a directors eye and it's an accomplished debut.
I just watched this movie with my GF and I thought it was brilliant, one of the most satisfying movie experiences I've had in quite a while. I'm gonna have to check out The Town now for sure.

Really? Although well shot and acted, I thought this was barely a step away from an average T.V special and twist aside, quite forgettable.

Stereo, I'm completing my Cronenberg.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

Black Swan.

Absolutely awesome, the cinematography was beautiful and Natalie Portman's performance was mindblowing ('spesh the scene with Mila.. daaaaaamn). That's all that needs to be said.

The Kids Are Alright

This was a pretty good film. I went into thinking it was drama heavy but it was light hearted with some humor here and there sprinkled throughout. I feel like the last line of the movie before the credits wraps it up very well.

Spoiler for :
"I don't think you guys should break up." "Why is that Laser?" "Well you two are too old" the two mothers proceed to hold hands and the credits role."

ok so this is the first time i've watched it since i first saw it back in 2002....and i honestly thought i may not enjoy it on a second viewing (i loved the first viewing).....but it really is just a well done story
Yeah, I really enjoyed that one too. I haven't seen it for quite a while myself though, so may have to get round to it again.

I have a feeling that it's gonna be like the Sixth Sense or Usual Suspects, ie one of those where knowing the twist at the end makes repeated viewings a wee bit laboured...
