The story. The acting. The overall awesomeness. And the fact that it functions as a final chapter for Eastwood's man-without-a-name adds an extra amount of gravitas.

I thought the acting was great, but the story and badass-ness could have been up a notch or two more.

Spoiler for Unforgiven:
How did Eastwood get away with shooting everyone at the end without getting shot? Did everyone really miss?

Because he's supposed to a symbolic force of nature that has been awakened.

They're both really good and worth seeing but they also kind of tie in with Unforgiven in a thematic way, which is why I mention them.

The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser

My favorite Werner Herzog movie.

The story of a man who spent the first 15 years of his life locked up in a solitary dungeon and then reintroduced to society. It's a true story too. Very interesting.
