^ Stunning set-pieces and some excellent cinematography. I loved the look of the monsters in it as well. As for downsides, the plot's a bit on the confusing side (especially if you've never played the games), and it's hard to sympathise with such a dim-witted protagonist. Still, as far as game-to-movie adaptations go, this is definitely one of the better ones. |

The protagonist's parents turned into pigs, she then meets somebody called Haku who saves her and tells her she has to work so the same doesn't happen to her. Haku is actually a dragon and a spirit.
I found that to be a bit ridiculous, it was too whimsical and zainy at times. I found the pacing to be a problem, I was watching and it felt longer than it actually was. I like the mystique surrounding No Face, then he started getting fat and eating people. Just bits and bobs, I did enjoy it but I didn't find myself loving it. |

Really?
I thought I was watching a documentary. My bad. Just because something is fantasy, doesn't mean I can excuse a plot I didn't like. Brazil, Pan's Labyrinth, LOTR, Edward Scissorhands - I could go on and on. They're fantasy films and I like the plot. I think when people dislike a film because it "isn't believable" is stupid. I'm saying it was a little ridiculous. I liked Spirited Away, but I didn't love it. Like I say, on a technical level it's brilliant. But something was missing for me. I'll try Princess Mononoke next. |

A very intriguing low budget psychological thriller that deals with time loops and alternate realities. Throws up more questions than it answers but I like films that get you thinking long after the credits have rolled.

I'm simply saying I didn't fall in love with a film because I didn't find myself enjoying it as much as I could have, you could offer your own opinion and some insight instead of half-arsed remarks like "It's a fantasy film" and "whatever you say"
I assume you love the film, what did you love about it? |
