It was a little too weird for me, but I still enjoyed it...

It's been out for at least a year even longer I think and I have still not got around to seeing this version and indeed buying it. Flawed film but still enthralling.

i just re-watched burn after reading and it was exactly as i remembered.
really uneven film. the coens tried to get the actors to appear almost slapstick. it mostly annoyed me(pitt pulled it off well). there are a few great scenes, and handfuls of mediocre ones. the script is passable. i really hope the coens do more comedies in the future. and i would hope they would take some lessons from how this turned out. it could've been special with the cast they assembled.

^ Not bad, but not that spectacular either. On the plus the, the initial premise is intriguing, I loved the look and feel of the misty trench settings, most of the actors did pretty good jobs and it was a pleasure to see Kris Marshall cop it. Too many plotholes and inadequately explained resolutions though and, for what's supposed to be a horror movie, it really wasn't very unsettling at all. Not to me anyway. ^ And I just thought I'd revisit this ol' chestnut as well. It's about the 10th time I've watched this, and I'm still not bored of it in the slightest - definitely in my top 10 of all time. |
