Amelie.

I regret not having seen this before last night - it's just amazing.

Gregg Araki has always been an acquired taste and he wanted to shock people with this film he said but I found it to be very hit and miss and more style over substance. One of his later film Mysterious Skin was an improvement but there was a lot to dislike about that film too.

What a bone-chilling review of how beyond ****ed the military-industrial complex is.

Outstanding, probably my favourite of the year - even more so than Inception.

....really?

That's unusually high marks for what seems like a biography. Unless they challenge some real boundaries, I find it hard to believe that its going to mount a credible challenge to Inception.

What made you like it so much?

I just got back from the theatre, and I like the whole theatre experience. Except for the fact I bought £30s worth of DVDs and I lost them and ran round the cinema trying to retrieve them... But yeah, I felt more satisfied when I came away from this than when I came away from Inception.

I think it's a lot funnier than I imagined, the dialogue was spot on. It was really well directed, as you'd expect from Fincher but also really well acted, Jessie Eisenberg was wonderful and Justin Timberlake was surprisingly good. I thought the story would be the weak link, as I generally detest Facebook but I loved the story. Deliriously entertaining stuff. I genuinely think it could win best picture, I haven't enjoyed a trip to the cinema that much in a long time.

I actually much preferred Mysterious Skin, but I will admit that The Doom Generation certainly held my attention.
