Lovecraft is very difficult to pin down visually. Director Stuart Gordon is a huge Lovecraft fan along with his regular writer Denis Pasoli. Dagon had some nice visual touches but collapsed in a mess by the end of the film. Re-Animator is an absolute classic but the humour detracts from the original story and From Beyond needed a bigger budget. Dreams From The Witch House which is from the Masters Of Horror Cable series was a fairly effective 50 mins.
