It's like watching a film that contains a twist so unfathomable, watching it for the second time - it wouldn't be as good. The Usual Suspects doesn't have play back value, for that reason.

And if Withnail isn't your favourite comedy, and Borat isn't... what is? Anchorman isn't as funny as Borat for a start.
Dr. Strangelove and The Big Lebowski

Honorable Mention Office Space

That's only true if the film's impact relies heavily on twist and not much else. But that's not really a compliment for the film.

The Big Lebowski was entertaining enough, but hilarious? No.

A little underwhelmed by this but I usually try to learn a little about the backdrop if I am watching a historical film with it's basis in fact so that lessened the experience for me.

I laughed way harder the first time I saw Anchorman than I did watching Borat.

I have a pretty simple metric for gaging that: it made me laugh a whole lot more. Like I said previously, I thought Borat was amusing but I only laughed out loud a couple of times while watching it.
