I thought We Own The Night blew, good soundtrack though

Rambo was gangster as expected. And I liked We Own the Night...was some slow parts. But I like Phoenix and Wahlberg a lot. So that probably helped.

I knew the story too (based on true occurrences) but I had my doubts before seeing it.
I imagined it to be another badly (and cheesy) made film portraying yet another East London football hooligan firm.

I was pretty surprised when it turned out to be anything but.
Graphically violent and genuinely shocking in parts.
Definitely not for the squeamish.
Some very convincing acting too.

See it for yourself.

^ West Ham v Millwall tube scene.

oops...loops in the middle for a bit...stick with it.

Looks tasty as...

Have you read this at all?:
Cass Pennant - Terrace Legends - review

I managed to pick it up in hardback for 99p about a year back. No nonsense gritty reading.

I'm aware of the book, but never read it.

Don't be misled by the clip I upped.
The story moves away from the football and onto his activities in the criminal underworld shortly after that scene.
The scene is relatively early on in the film and only after, does the story begin to gather real pace.

I was'nt misled. I am trying to get the necessary conkers together to buy the film tomorrow!

Great performances can't hind a film that shamefully plays with the truth and asks you to commit two hours of emotional investment in a character who didn't exist. Great Afro Beat soundtrack. I will have to find that one!

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

i enjoyed it , except for the ending. I wanna punch the director right in the face for cutting it off right when i was on the edge of my seat!
