Well I certainly wouldn't bare my soul like he did. I didn't say I liked it and I found him to be a knob but it was still better than watching the dross on tv these days.

I liked it, I even chuckled in some of the passages. Very well played, wouldn't mind watching it again, but man Shakespeare's plots have the most absurd conclusions. Anyway, Emma Thompson is as breathtaking as ever, great cast all in all.

One of Lars on Trier's early Dogme 95 films. Even if my attention wondered in one or two places, it was pretty good stuff all-round. Very strong story with just the right kinds of characters populating it to make it work really well, not to mention the fairly shocking revelelation towards the end. Plus the lack of any music over the top of it does the film a real favour. |

Awesome film, one of my favourites, it's hard to believe that the harsh rules of the Dogma were respected in the making of this movie (well not all of them, as it was finally signed by Vinterberg, instead of remaining anonymous).

Saw the japanese vampire film "Thirst".
.. And was bored pretty much throughout. For a vampire movie, very little happens in this one. It focuses very much on the relationship between the two main characters, but I didn't really feel sympathy or even much interest in either of them. I'm somewhat disappointed because a movie mag I just read here gave it a whopping 6 out of 6! More like 3 out of 6 for me.

It's actually Korean. But yeah, not one of his better films, check out his Vengeance trilogy (I'm sure you've heard of Oldboy) and J.S.A.

Oh right, Korean .. I have seen Oldboy which was okay. I don't think I'll bother with the trilogy though. Not interested enough to make it a priority at the moment.

I think you're the first person who's described Oldboy as "ok" Fair dues though...
