Starring Adrien Brody - one of a talented few who can go on a skiing holiday and bring his own slope with him :D Very good, thought-provoking and touching (biographical) holocaust story, and one that doesn't end in a cornfest like Schindler's List does. I'll admit the lack of Brody's playing a particularly interesting character did get have my attention span wondering throughout the opening third or so, but from there the film improves so much as a genuinely good story, with some stunning photography on show too. http://a2mediaebonysolomons.files.wo...ckhawkdown.jpg Meh. Better than some of the dross of its ilk that I've seen (We Were Soldiers, Jarhead etc), good fun and some great action sequences throughout, but nothing I'd go out of my way to see again in a hurry. |

Blackhawk Down is an awesome war movie, despite the fact it has Josh Hartnett in it haha...

As you say, it's a good film for what it is, ie a nice, fast-paced modern war movie. http://www.currentfilm.com/images3/w...ysdvdcover.jpg Really enjoyed this one. A very strong and well-written story, complimented by some great performances from the lead parts. Pretty damn funny stuff too. I do think the screenplay didn't quite make enough of Katie Holmes' character, what with the kind of role she plays and how it kinda constantly brushes her off into the background and that, but this is still easily one of the most enjoyable films I've seen in a while. |

It was good, didn't quite know what I thought of it at first. I didn't know whether it was good or crap but I kind of grew into it, entertaining film. |

I liked it, I even chuckled in some of the passages. Very well played, wouldn't mind watching it again, but man Shakespeare's plots have the most absurd conclusions. Anyway, Emma Thompson is as breathtaking as ever, great cast all in all. |

One of Lars on Trier's early Dogme 95 films. Even if my attention wondered in one or two places, it was pretty good stuff all-round. Very strong story with just the right kinds of characters populating it to make it work really well, not to mention the fairly shocking revelelation towards the end. Plus the lack of any music over the top of it does the film a real favour. |
