So you're saying they're both blah actors just because they are type casted?

Not all actors are "disappear into role" actors, some bring a certain persona into it like DeNiro and Nicholson and that's part of their appeal.

Pacino and DeNiro are both top tier for me, even if their more recent work is pretty terrible.

DeNiro has a lot of greats. Godfather II, Untouchables, all of his Scorsese work. Awakenings is pretty underrated too.

I could understand the dislike for Scarface but what about The Godfather films? Dog Day Afternoon? Serpico? Insider? Insomnia? Glengarry Glenn Ross?

I liked his wonderfully hammy performance in Scent of a Woman too, though he didn't deserve to win the oscar and that speech scene in the end was really heavy handed.

I didn't really like Troy. Brad Pitt didn't seem very convincing in the role and Eric Bana is just not a good actor in my opinion. Plus Brad Pitt is not all that good looking (there, I said it).

It had a few laughs, not worth the rest of the film at all, the characters were all very cliche and predictable, the dialogue was pretty naff too, I just thought it was pretty awful.

But then I did have a bad neck and they did make me sit in the ****ing front row, but I don't think I'm letting that cloud my judgement too much, I honestly expected more from Gervais.

completely agree. I found the funny parts were gold. but inbetween it was slow and predictable. If I'm honest I didn't expect much from gervais, I've seen a few films with him in it and they weren't the best. I dunno wither he directed it and what not though

Yeah him and Stephen Merchant wrote + directed it, I wasn't expecting the dialogue to be as bad as it was, I'm not too bothered about there not being many laughs if the rest of the film is good, but it just wasn't for me.

After previously trying to watch this 2 other times, I never got round to completing it for one reason or another. Tonight I sat down and watched it in its entirety. 7/10
