I've been watching Gargoyles on Disney+
Before there was Professor Snape there was Goliath. Baby Stephenie had a type. |

Go watch Spider-Man: The Animated Series. **** was lit and the voice actor for Peter precludes me from ever accepting Toby MacGuire as the true Peter. And it's on Disney+.

I fucking love LVT the absolute nutter. Half brilliance and transcendent art and half ego stroking nonsense. I wouldn't have it any other way  Spoiler for A perfect review:

that's my favorite movie of his. I hope I saw the director's cut though.

indeed the former

I keep thinking about the ending. As with most of his films I didn't care for it at first, but now I can't get over how perfect it was. Can't wait to watch again.

The Lighthouse is out on digital and physical so everybody should watch it, I would honestly call it my #1 favorite film at this point. Excited to get my bluray copy soon
|
Finally watched the whole new Star Wars trilogy and I think I'll have to read the Heir to the Empire book trilogy to remind myself that new Star Wars doesn't have to suck.

The opening scene alone made me fall almost instantly in love with this movie. Aesthetically it is gobsmacking with some of the most gorgeous cinematrography I've seen in a war movie. |

I found the 2nd act to be quite a bit weaker than the rest. Main character runs through areas in a straight line while the Germans were like ****ing Stormtroopers missing point blank shots, it took me out of the experience a little bit because it was such a clear usage of plot armor. The first and third acts though were perfection, so many incredible scenes and moments, the film really puts you through a lot of emotions. You can feel the disgusting dirt and grime as they trudge through the mud and the trenches, you feel the desperation and hopelessness at points, and you definitely feel those final moments with Blake's brother. 1st and 3rd act 10/10, 2nd act 6/10, overall 9/10 |
Propaganda movies are trash, 1/10.

So every film that uses war as part of its storyline is automatically a propaganda movie? I think you should see it first. It wasn’t a piece of trash like American Sniper or something
|
99.99999% of the time, yes.
To be fair, 1917 had good lighting so I give 1.5/10 |

After 1917 I felt filthy, drained, and sad, which I believe was the intended message if there even was one
After most other war movies I felt like the message was “AMERICA **** YEAH WE ALWAYS WIN!!!!!” or something similar 1917 just seemed like a completely different kind of film to me. Frownland will probably just call me a sheep or something so I guess it is what it is |
