I don't think Saw can be considered gory, compared to movies like Cannibal Holocaust or Salò.

Wait until you see Mermaid In A Manhole in the Guinea Pig series. Some serious CAT III nastiness along with Bunman:The Untold Story and The Ebola Syndrome. Bunman has the most shocking scene of family slaughter I have ever seen in a film. Definitely NOT for the squeamish.

Ran (1985) It's hard for me to really judge this movie. To be honest, I found it incredibly stagey and slow-moving, but I recognize that a lot of that is cultural. I guess I was hoping for something that grabbing me a little more (okay, a lot more) but I'm still glad I saw it. |

Blood effects aside, it's such a beautiful movie. It is a little slow at the start, which some people will be put off with, but it's a great movie.
