I saw Avengers last night and even while having some major issues at points, it was a satisfying conclusion to the decade-long story that they've been developing. I do think there are some insanely huge plot holes, but I'm not unhappy.

Yup. The loudest was for Black Panther though.

Karate Kid when it was first released. Theater exploded when Daniel landed that kick at the end. Closest I ever got to that was The Hangover. Never heard an entire crowd laugh so freaking hard.

In the adjusted for inflation list every “film” in the top 50 biggest all time budgets in either bad or very bad. Is there any hope that a gigantic budget will ever be allotted to an intelligent plot? |
I like Spiderman 2 and the Harry Potter movie has a cool aesthetic (not a great film though).
I think that it's because the more expensive the film is, the more producers you have in control of the outcome to get the best ROI on the movie. That leads them to catering to the lowest common denominator and making middling yet entertaining movies because making something exceptional typically requires some risk taking. |

It bodes ill for a list when Van Helsing is easily the best movie on it |

A massive chunk of those budgets is salaries. Especially sequels where the actors can demand a lot more.
Salaries include residuals. |

I don’t even have to see that queer ass comic book **** to know it’s garbage.

I’m not sure if I could make it thru a three hour film without having to pee.
I’d probably have to hold off the caffeine so as to not experience flickileaks. |

Watched the remake of Overboard, pretty much to see how bad it was going to be - was on in the background while I jammed. (loved the first one in that 'ya, it's stupid but it's stupid done really well' kinda way)
Pretty much stupid but gotta say this dude is a really good comedic actor. Gotta check out some of his serious stuff. Guess I'm the last guy on the planet to have heard of him. Eugenio Derbez https://www.elsoldemexico.com.mx/gos...nio-derbez.jpg |
Should I watch Oculus? Reviews look fine, trailer looks a bit retarded,
|
It has great suspense, moments of creepy atmosphere, and I love the ending, but ja it's a bit fragile X syndrome. Hush, Ouija: Origin of Evil, and Gerald's Game are all much better Flanagan films.

I last saw UNCLE BUCK (1989) on VHS :)
Recorded from analogue cable (PPV) and its the most beautiful copy of that movie I have ever seen! |

Stalker with the Ghostbusters cast if it was written as an SCP with terrible dialogue. I liked it. 3.5/5 |
Finally watched Man of Steel and saw flaws but enjoyed it quite a bit more than I thought I would and think at least some of its notoriety comes from trying to not understand the movie and now I'm rewatching Batman v. Superman to see if there's more to enjoy about it than what I saw on first viewing. And then I'll check out Aquaman and Justice League and see if DC really does have a leg to stand on against Marvel.

I sent five of my kids to go see Endgame at the cinema on Saturday. I'm too busy to go, but I didn't want them to miss the experience. They liked it well enough, but the two older kids said they hated the Thor subplot and that the conversation with his mother was a bunch of hogwash.
