I don't remember Naked Gun very well but I love the scene where the driving instructor is teaching his student how to flip someone off.

"Roll down the window. Extend your arm. Now slowly raise your middle finger."

This and Dead Ringers are easily my favorites of his, although there are a few I haven't seen (anything pre-Scanners, Eastern Promises, eXistenZ).

Crash is also kinda underrated, IMO. But I guess the NC-17 rating kept it from being promoted or widely distributed.

^ I never felt it was a horror film. It's surreal and existentialist.
Well it's kind of an autobiography.

Still is a must, of course.

The Fly is awesome, easily one of my all time favorite horror films. Overall Cronenberg is very high on the tier of horror/thriller directors for me. I hope he gets back to straight up horror stuff someday because that genre is in desperate need of something interesting right now.
The French and Belgians have been knocking out some of the most cerebral and intelligent Horror films of the last 5 years or so it's only the stagnant Hollywood crap that has lead to this assumption. Calvaire, Haute Tension, Frontieres, Trouble Every Day, Ex Drummer (although a black comedy if truth be told),À l'intérieur and Martyrs are superlative Horror films that have breathed new life into Horror and all worthy of inspection.

i agree the French and British have it goin on, they aren't scared to go to far with the gore either. if you like inside and martyr try Eden lake and Antichrist. Eden lake was disturbing because of who was doing the torturing, Antichrist on the other hand had some imaged that i would rather of not seen. It really made me cringe, but was a good movie otherwise.

I have antichrist and I've been wanting to watch it except a friend of mine said it was a bit boring because it's all dialogue between these two people .. and that the interaction between these two alone can't carry the movie in such a way that it's entertaining from start to end. He didn't say it was terrible, but I got the impression it was nothing to get excited about.

Yeah, I'm pretty much talking specifically about the American horror film industry.

But don't worry, all of these movies will get godawful American remakes eventually.

Which reminds me, Let the Right One In is getting remade, it will be directed by the Cloverfield guy and star that kid from The Road.
