^ Best film I've seen in ages, and probably my new joint-favourite vampire movie (the other being, of course, From Dusk 'til Dawn), which is weird as the overall concept is, on paper, actually pretty stupid. Goes to show what heights good direction, writing and performances (Malkovich and Dafoe are fantastic in this) can take a film to.

That was an interesting movie for me. When I watched it, I wasn't blown away by it overall but I thought the acting and cinematography were amazing. But strangely enough, in the intervening 8 or 9 years I found it to be a movie I think about a lot and have slowly come to the conclusion that it really was pretty great.

Well it's probably worth it for you then. But I will warn you I thought the script was the worst thing about the movie.

What was so bad about it? Without totally ruining the film (if that's possible.) I can't imagine Scorey to do a film with an awful script..

:(

I don't want to give stuff away but the best way to say it is basically it has the same type of plot and same predictable twists and turns of just about every movie ever made about similar subject matter. It was tedious to watch the movie slowly reveal things that were blatantly obvious to me as viewer much earlier on.

Not another The Departed then (that was one of my favourites from the 00s, I don't mean by genre) In that movie I just never saw the end coming, made it so much better, the feeling of :D to

A loose remake of the classic TV play from Football Factory director Nick Love but don't expect FF part 2. This was much more subdued and not all that violent. However because I'm such a big fan of the original, I couldn't shake that out of my head and a couple of scenes directly lifted from the original were superfluous and nowhere near as powerful. Odd film in that I simultaneously liked and disliked it. The 80's music was generally terrible though :(

Exactly!

spoilers:

it seemed so far fetched that his doctor would go along with being his "partner" for what, 2 years?

How does he do that and still have hundreds of other patients, especially those that are supposed to be most aggressive?

I didn't understand the need to blow up that car either.

Seeing Rorsach in it was cool though.

Saw A Serious Man, and loved it. Definately reccemended, even though some people won't like the ending.

I just needed something on while I was eating my dinner earlier. Very very stupid film, but alright as a bit of fun. It also occured to me while watching this that Jason is about as scary as a bag of satsumas as well.

Excellent film! It has a very surreal dream-like feel to it and it just gets more tense and twisted as the film progresses. The ending feels really fucked-up.
