Oooh! I really, really, really want to see this, have been eyeing it off for ages! The fact that it is about a primary school teacher appealed to me (I love films I can relate to!) but since it didn't receive much acclaim I thought I might be disappointed. Good to hear that you liked it so much! I must definitely watch it sometime soon.

Well it's more in the vein of Memories which is a good thing. I liked it but it's a bit more subdued than MoM so consequently less memorable. Still a good film (probably the best Korean last year, certainly better than Park Chan Wook's Thirst).

Been over a year since I watched this and I still love it as much as when I saw it opening night back in 2006. It's gritty, well written, well directed, and each of the actors really gets into their characters. Most people will hold Goodfellas as Scorsese's crowning achievement, but to me this is my favourite of his impressive library. It may be because this movie is sort of the Goodfella's for my generation.

great film and well up there in his top three methinks, so damn engrossing. Like any good adaptation it take the original and, erm, adapts it. A late career high, although I feel that 'the Aviator' is grossly underrated by most people. Who would have thought Leonardo DiCaprio would become such an enjoyable actor to watch. Is he method school? Does that even mean anything, are all actors method now like their 70s idols?

^ I wonder why the mention of "The Method" has vanished after all the hype following Brando and Pacino.
DiCaprio has become one of the most impressive actors of our days, I'm very glad he didn't keep his image of the handsome poor boy of Titanic, that brought all the pre-adolescent girls to tears.

DiCaprio has always been an impressive actor IMO. But when Titanic came out, every time I would say so, my friends would say "Yeah right Sarah, you just like him because he's cute." Whatever.

Yeah I know... I always thought Titanic was his least good performance. He had some breathtaking earlier performances, especially in What's Eating Gilbert Grape?.
