Dunno if it qualifies as a movie, but just watched The Wizard of Lies, directed by Levinson. DeNiro ****ing kills it as Bernie Madoff, but Pfeiffer is well worth watching as his wife. Excellent dramatisation. |

Finally got around to see Wonder Woman. I had mixed feelings watching it. Feeling like there wasn't enough action but I guess they needed some breathing room to tell the story along with adding in a romance subplot.

The Godfather.
Almost 3 hours long and you wish it could keep going. (not a big fan of GFII - great movie but not an equal). Coolest thing about watching it every 10 years or so is seeing actors like Pacino, Duvall, and Caan so damn young and before they became icons. |
I last watched RAMBO III (1988) on VHS :)
Not as good as the first and 2nd @ all...... |

10 Cloverfield Lane.
Crazy premise and great performance by John Goodman. The ending is such a total trip. Plus, always been a fan of Mary ever since Live Free or Die Hard. http://hairstyles.thehairstyler.com/...h-Winstead.jpg |
Agreed, I thought it was a really great premise. Goodman's character's kidnapper/protector dynamic that made the two seamlessly connected instead of separate traits was incredibly fascinating. I thought that it fizzled out on a few of the plot points that it opened itself up to but enjoyed the ending regardless.
Spoiler for another reason to love it:

Took me a while to connect Emmitt with the psycho in Hush.

Sicario, again.
The scene with Blunt and Brolin after she comes out of the tunnel.... The scene with Del Toro and the Mexican family having dinner.... The scene with Del Toro and Blunt at the end.... It just doesn't get any better. Brilliant filmmaking and acting. |

Man, I never realized just how good the beginning of Jaws was. I watched half of Jaws last night but fell asleep and now I was gonna watch the whole thing over. And last night I was almost caught off guard cause I didn't remember the beginning being that ****ing raw. I mean it's aged some with the special effects and the actings, but only just a bit, and it is uncomfortable to watch. And just before I rewatched the scene a little while ago I honestly felt just a bit apprehensive because my memory of the scene was fresh. That's pretty ****ing awesome.
*And it was uncomfortable and awesome the second time too. |
The Woody Allen movie Mighty Aphrodite (1995).
http://www.projections-movies.com/im...0aphrodite.jpg I really enjoyed it! Charming, funny, well shot, well acted, well written... like a lot of other Woody Allen movies, basically. I know a lot of people find his movies annoying, but I really love them. I've worked my way through 19 of them so far... There's a lot more. I'm glad he's been so insanely productive over the years. |
Goon. Good mindless fun.

Try going into this without reading up on it, this is personally one of the best horror films I've seen this decade. Top 10 material. Pretty lingering shit. It's pretty tame compared to other much bloodier, more grizzlier flicks, but make no mistake it gets pretty hairy. These past few years have given us incredibly great horror films and this is one the best. |
that's been in my watchlist for quite awhile and ive started it at least 3 times now. will give it an actual chance this weekend, ive heard nothing but great things.

What begins as a simple documentary into the court case between Hulk Hogan and Gawker Media turns more into a look at how Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel financed Hogan's case against Gawker because of a personal grudge he held against the site for outing him as a puff back in 2007. Then it moves on to how billionaire Sheldon Adelson purchased the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper, and finally, because all roads lead to him, a section on Trump and his rise to power and how he is a threat to freedom of the press and the 1st Amendment. I could see that the documentary was going to segue into that because I'm a clever clogs who doesn't breathe with his mouth, but I can definitely see some people who just wanted to watch a documentary about an aged wrestler's penis be a little disappointed. Funnily enough, my opinion on the case still hasn't changed and I do think the world is a better place without Gawker, which really is a unique toilet of the internet. It actually made me feel a little sorry for Hulk Hogan, who was really a pawn in all this, and even more angry at the owners of Gawker for basically making this the hill where the 1st Amendment starts to die. It actually feels quite relevant as a film now due to the recent litigation against John Oliver of Last Week Tonight and HBO after doing a segment on the coal industry and specifically Murray Energy. Given how scathing those segments can be, it's not hard to believe that someone else Oliver has done an exposé could pool their finances to get that show off the air and ruin Oliver's career, but now I'm getting into Chula levels of conspiracy. Overall it was a decent documentary, although my biggest criticism was that they didn't have much in the way of diversity between the subjects they interviewed, and I don't think any of them said much of anything on Gawker and their horrid excuse for journalism. |
Battle Royale is insane. As is Ichi.
Have you seen The Man From Nowhere? https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...sC5PsKKRG_IPTM |
So I watched The Last Dragon again last night after not seeing it in years. I thought some of the language was just because it was censored for network tv but no there is dialogue in the film like "limp wimp". I busted out laughing so hard. It wasn't creative censoring like I thought.

I just watched One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest for the first time ever.
Not sure what took me so long. Fantastic movie! Suck a memorable cast of characters. Real downer of an ending too... I did not see that coming! |
