Fascinating insight into one of the most notorious relationships in modern filmmaking. Very disconcerting watching Kinski's fits of rage, more so because I've been exposed to something very similar at home. What's more, I think Herzog's character and demeanor is very similar to my own, so it's very difficult to understand why he would willingly seek out such madness...or is it? The clips from some early scenes from Fitzcarraldo which was originally supposed to be played by Jason Robards and feature Mick Jagger certainly show a world of difference in talent and the end result would have probably been a far lesser film...

Funny People
Watched the movie with low expectations and it turned out to be much better than I expected. It's no 40 Year Old Virgin but much better than Knocked Up. Last edited by captaincaptain; 01-02-2010 at 05:45 PM. |

People still haven't learned that impaawards doesn't allow hotlinking.
Anyhow, of all the Apatow films I've seen Knocked up is still my favorite. I downloaded Funny people recently but after learning it lasts 2 and a half freakin' hours am more than reluctant to watch it, especially since it features Sandler...:/

I woke up from my cat jumping on my chest, and I apparently fell asleep with the tv on.
Now, I don't remember the name, but it just happened to be on "Skinemax" so I'm sure you can guess the genre. But being groggy from just being woken up, I actually watched the last half hour or so trying to figure out the plot. That just shows how much of a life I have....but before that, it was Gran Torino. Not as good as I had hoped. But still decent. |
