I watched that film for the first time last night, a brilliant film with a brilliant soundtrack. I'm downloading the entire Air discography right now

It's cliched stuff but damn I love this film. Viewing No.5 tonight!

District 9 and Lolita. The first was fun, the second just ok and if my memory doesn't deceive me, vastly inferior to the Adrian Lyne version in tone and execution. That's right, I said it!

I remember watching Lyne's Lolita when I was 9 and knowing it was my first "favorite movie", but after reading the book, Adrian Lyne didn't even seem to have adapted that same book to the screen. As for the older version, I don't think anyone can do better when Kubrick is the director and Nabokov himself is writing the screenplay.

Anyway, our next project, for our weekly Ciné-Club, will be to watch both versions and kind of compare them. I'll be getting to you in a week or two, with a perfectly refreshed memory of both movies.

Changeling. Did not have very high expectations but Jolie did a great job.

Yeah, I've put it on queue so I'll watch it soon too.

Without being too spoilery, overall it was an enjoyable experience, very funny at times, really nice music (seems to be a bit of a trend to put indie music in films). Unfortunately, it sort of gets off track in the last 20 minutes or so and delves into serious, over the top drama and clichés. I'm not an expert in relationships but I don't think any real, sane person would act that way. Kinda disappointing coz it started out as a pretty intelligent and unusual take on relationships. Plus, I'm not really sure they pulled off Deschanel's character (or at least I don't know what to make of her). Still, it shits all over Mendes' Away we go...

My piano teacher highly dislikes this film.
I'm sorry, but this is brilliance. Pure. ****ing. Brilliance.
