It wasn't as great as I was hoping, but better than I expected. It was original, but a little generic at the same time and I knew how it was going to end after the first 20 minutes. The whole one sister being upbeat and nice and the other one being edgy and cynical is a bit overdone, but that being said, it was cute and good for what it was. The little kid in it was adorable and there were some really funny moments. I'd give it 2 1/2 stars out of 5.

A couple of days of very contrasting viewing.

David Lynch? 3 hours long? Shot on DV? Hell yeah! Another mindmelt that splits audiences down the middle. A difficult watch for sure but at least the guy is original and makes you think with each movie. I loved it!

Awful B movie tripe but I just HAD to watch it!

Unimpressed on first viewing. Second viewing was much better but it still falls into a lot hackneyed crap. Get's better though and Toby Kebbell is once again a star in the making.

You can never go wrong with a Lynch movie.

Have you seen it? I have to say that the DV is horrible and doesn't translate well to DVD and the camera Lynch used is now retailing around $2,000! However it's perfect for the film and it helps retain the intimate aesthetic he wanted.

The DV was his choice as it's the easiest to use following his writing technique. He was directly taping on video the scene he visualized in his head, and then he tried tie them together into some kind of almost story lol. That's why things seemed so incoherent, but who cares, as you said, the guy's original.

Although I love the image aesthetics in Lynch's movies, which in this one will be a great miss, I guess the sound design is the real work of creation with Lynch, imo.
