Perhaps a bit over the top (okay, way over) but I liked it! |
I watched that one yesterday for the third time now. I never get bored of it, seems always fresh. I was even laughing out loud at some of the situations tho I knew how exactly they were going to happen. Plus the OST is great, composed by the director himself (Tom Tykwer). A cult movie from modern Germany.

I never quite got the adulation thrown at Run Lola Run. Sure it's a fun watch but I see it as a kind of one trick pony and I couldn't really care for the characters either so no matter how innovative it seems it defeated it's purpose.

But it just a movie you'll really enjoy, and is a bit able to stick with you. Actually the whole hype about this movie is cause the German cinema had been in some kind of depression since the Sound was introduced to cinema, and that was the movie that seemed to rise the German scene from the ashes. |

I can see what you are saying but directors like Wim Wenders, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Werner Herzog were flying the flag for German cinema long before but I agree that the 80's were a lean time for Germany. |

It's like when Fritz Lang went to the US, at the time of the Nazis. He then filmed M which can be considered one of his best, but that didn't do any good to the German scene. Now in Germany, there's some kind of a Boom since the late 90s. At least that's what they themselves have found, and that's what they're hoping for. |
