^ Good as a kind of 'how to' guide to dramatic writing, but as a film it's pretty flawed, with a good few plotholes to be seen. Decent enough overall I guess. The protagonist's combover is absolutely hilarious too.

re D.Johnston:

The best part is when Butthole Surfers acid makes him schizo. And the helicopter crash with his dad was effin rad. The rest was all talking if i remember correctly. Big business monkey. He's seen as like the quintessential idiot savant for hipsters but 'Hi' was really barbed... I saw some live footage of him recently and i wasn't buying it. stick to the dox. Good he has fans to pay the no doubt extortionate med bills

Entertaining wank at least

Perhaps a bit over the top (okay, way over) but I liked it!

I watched that one yesterday for the third time now. I never get bored of it, seems always fresh. I was even laughing out loud at some of the situations tho I knew how exactly they were going to happen. Plus the OST is great, composed by the director himself (Tom Tykwer). A cult movie from modern Germany.

I never quite got the adulation thrown at Run Lola Run. Sure it's a fun watch but I see it as a kind of one trick pony and I couldn't really care for the characters either so no matter how innovative it seems it defeated it's purpose.

Yeah that's the thing, I didn't find that was the point. i just didn't find any grain of seriousness in this whole movie. Of course it's about the importance of time, of random facts, of destiny etc ... but no one is making it a theological/philosophical subject. It even seems that Lola can return in time, and try to re-do everything again, but with a light difference, until it works. Which shows some huge flaws in the plot.

But it just a movie you'll really enjoy, and is a bit able to stick with you.

Actually the whole hype about this movie is cause the German cinema had been in some kind of depression since the Sound was introduced to cinema, and that was the movie that seemed to rise the German scene from the ashes.
