I liked it a lot. Very tense and pulled off the psychological horror feeling of pure dread and hopelessness really well

The Man From Nowhere. Third viewing. First in a few years. LOVE! this movie. One of my fave bad ass characters ever.

Chula Vista 09-17-2016 02:25 AM

Sticking with South Korea, "Mother". Again, haven't seen it in at least 4-5 years.

A complex murder mystery that is on par with Hitchcock. The story has you guessing and going back and forth right up until the ending, which resolves in a major crazy way.

The lead actress puts in an emotional performance that won her numerous awards, as did the film.

If you love mind **** flicks check this one out.

djchameleon 09-17-2016 05:32 AM

You left out the most important mention. Mother has the same director as The Host!

I watching BvS last night again but I was so sick that I ended up falling asleep on it. Most likely going to watch it this morning and then watch all the extras on the blu-ray.

Don't fall asleep again. BvS has that effect.

djchameleon 09-17-2016 05:37 AM

I won't. I have tea in my system plus it wasn't BvS that made me fall asleep. It was my fever.

Better be chamomile tea.

You messed up your own joke. Why would I need chamomile tea if BvS is supposed to be sleep inducing?

I do have a fever but chamomile is gross and it does nothing for a fever.

Hey, don't **** on Violet's old wives' tales.

Thelonious Monkey 09-17-2016 07:51 AM

It's okay, I'm British, I know tea better than him.

djchameleon 09-17-2016 10:45 AM

I'm West Indian so I know the same things about tea that you do since your country raped our islands back in the day but for some strange reason there are still British holdovers.

Thelonious Monkey 09-17-2016 10:57 AM

lol

I'm irish, so I know more about drinking than you do.

Doesn't that just mean you're owned by the English?

It means we blow up the English.

Clever girl.

The Batlord 09-17-2016 04:20 PM

Your Jurassic Park quotes get me all hot and bothered.

Probably some teeny bopper loser. Anyone who doesn't know every line of that movie by heart is a sicko.

duga 09-19-2016 08:51 AM

I can't ever read those two words together and not say them with an Australian accent in my head.

Watched this movie for possibly the hundredth time last night. Both Gyllenhaal and Ledger are amazing in this role and it blows me away every time I see the movie.

I liked both actors a ton before that movie but my admiration went way up after seeing it. Same goes for the female leads too. And of course, Ang Lee. Crash winning the Academy Award that year was ridiculous. At least Lee won best director.

Except that Crash is a far better movie. Besides the cinematography I was rather underwhelmed by the movie.

Crash is so damn contrived it's ridiculous. The way people's extreme attitudes switch on a dime because of singular events is simply unbelievable.

Brokeback Mountain dared to go really deep into a subject that it still highly controversial to this day. And they did it in an extremely mature and realistic way. Any homophobic person who can watch that movie and still remain as homophobic afterwards is completely FUBAR.
