The saturday morning one was Sonic X though right? The '93 series was the one that sucked.

There were two early 90s series, both on at the same time. The one during weekdays, with the cheap animation, bad writing, and general ****tiness was not what I was talking about. The other show was awesome, but that was years before Sonic X. There are three shows we're talking about.

The good...

The bad...

The ugly...

That was always my favorite sonic.

ChelseaDagger 06-21-2016 05:16 PM

As interesting as Sonic isn't, I'm gonna shake things up with Bridge of Spies. Great movie. Will watch again soon.

bulbasaur 06-21-2016 08:14 PM

adventures of sonic had these helpful gems, though

JGuy Grungeman 06-22-2016 02:43 PM

I've heard legends about these. When you said "helpful gems," I immediately thought Chaos Emeralds.

The Neon Demon in an hour. Thin plot? Thin characters? Incredible cinematography? Nicolas Winding Refn? I'm balls deep in this shit.

Reviewed it in my journal.

The Batlord 06-26-2016 05:12 PM

Whatever movie you see this summer is gonna suck ass in comparison to the sequel to end all sequels!

Fantastic documentary encapsulating the continuous rise of Daft Punk from the early days where the duo were in a band with the guitarist that would eventually end up in Phoenix, to them winning Grammy's for Random Access Memories. Suffice to say it'll have me spinning Daft Punk records probably all day.

A short called "Metroid: The Sky Calls." Amazing short. For 11 minutes, I got the EXACT kind of live-action Metroid movie I wanted to see. They NAILED it like a blow-dart on a fly. They got the morph ball right! In live-action!

"No Escape" with Owen Wilson and Pierce Brosnan

http://static.rogerebert.com/uploads...cl1GaKktSy.jpg

I am not really used to seeing Owen Wilson outside of a comedy and this film is everything but. Really well made action, good acting, and made me want to just skip to the end to see if they get out rather than having to see everything in between. Before this film, I was really interested in seeing this part of the world one day. Now, ummm...no. (Although the film really never states what country it is in..just some unnamed country bordering Vietnam but it was shot in Thailand).

So... I saw The Neon Demon. There were barely any other people in the theater, and a few walked out before the end. However, there was a couple a few seats behind me that were having fun with the mindfuck nature of it. Plus, they both kept laughing every time Keanu Reeves popped up and said/did some creepy shit.

I thought it was good for what it was trying to be. If you're expecting anything other than a visual-heavy art attack, you might be disappointed. Anyway, I guess my generation finally has it's own Nekromantik. :thumb:

Whoa whoa whoa... whoa. I keep hearing people talk about this movie, but is it actually some kind of arthouse film with KEANU REEVES?! That's like my dream come true. I have to get wasted and go see this thing.

Oriphiel 06-29-2016 01:14 PM

He's only a minor character. But yeah, he's in it.

That scene with Keanu Reeves in Elle Fanning's hotel room. Fucking freaked me out.

It was my first-ever viewing. Tomorrow I'm following it up with Scanners. Do a shot every time you recognize dialog from a psybient techno record.

Same here. *shudders*

Syriana.

Incredible film making with killer acting and cinematography..... but, the story is so damn convoluted and honestly, confusing, that it's really hard to tell what the motivations of the multitudes of characters are.

Was chatting with Frowny about Traffic earlier. That's a movie that made this sort of ambitious storytelling work. Syriana, not so much.

you're going to compare a lip stick lesbian corpse sex scene to Nekromantik?

i've been seeing ads for this all over the internet in the last couple of months but didn't think much of it.....necrophilia, voyeurism, and models popping eyeballs in their mouth?....you've seriously peaked my interest....unfortunately i'll have to wait for an at home release

LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH!

duga 06-30-2016 08:42 AM

Independence Day: Resurgence. I thought it was a really entertaining movie. I don't understand what people were expecting exactly. If you go to see it then you are probably a fan of the first one....was everyone expecting oscar-worthy material here? It's aliens coming to kill everyone. This isn't very heady stuff.

Lots of things blow up. Jeff Goldblum is in it. Data makes the whole movie. Hell, I'd gladly see it again.

bob. 06-30-2016 09:01 AM

it was basically a remake of the first film with more awesome stuff....i had a blast seeing it :)

Kinda, yeah, but mostly I was just making a joke. I mean, how often do movies with corpse fucking scenes come out?

DeadChannel 06-30-2016 12:25 PM

Margin Call. Tense, suspenseful office drama in the tradition of The Bad Sleep Well. Totally underrated. I liked it more than The Big Short, but I totally didn't expect to.

9/10

More often than you'd think :)

Justthefacts 06-30-2016 01:39 PM

I don't think there was anything sexier in that movie than Jena Malone plowing a corpse. What was with those tattoos on her body though?

Independence Day: Resurgance

So good that I decided to make it the first movie I slept through half of in theatres.
