^ Pretty crappy. ^ I was watching this snuggled up on the couch with my friend and didn't have my contact lenses in / glasses on so I couldn't read any of the subtitles so a lot of the movie was rather meaningless. I think I fell asleep in the end. Might watch it again. |

^^ I quite liked Zack and Miri, despite not watching it for a considerable length of time after it came out due to the belief that it would be extremely crappy. It looked terrible to me. I can see how it wouldnt be for everyone though.

Hmh, I saw Zack & Miri and I thought it was a nice and funny film. In other words not groundbreaking, deep or excitingly intellingent, but on the whole funny and well worth the watch.
I just got a hold of Ong Bak 2 .. I liked the first which was the typical asian martial arts film only with muay thai instead of the more standard Kung Fu flicks most of us are used to. The second one actually seems more kung-fuish to me and from the trailer, it looks like it's a fight-fest almost from start to finish. Anyone know if it's good?

I ended up staying at school last night to watch a movie called Songs From The Southern Seas about a Russian man named Ivan who lives in Kazakhstan with his wife who bears him a dark skinned son, which immediately arouses suspicion that his wife was having an affair with the neighbor. The entire length of the movie is really more about the prejudices we have and a search for identity. For example there is another person in the movie who is of German descent and longs to see his family, yet he has grown up in Kazakhstan and can only speak Russian, something his employer reminds him about quite frequently, yet his desire to seek out his true heritage is so great that he goes back to his family. A very touching and well done foreign movie that I probably would have never seen on my own.

I loved this animation. Everything about it from the plot to music to style of the animation itself. I highly recommend this one. After watching the devil's backbone, I decided to pick this one up...another beautiful ghost story told. It was listed as horror but it's definitely a touching drama. After watching this I'm still confused about what I spent my hour and 24 mins actually viewing. At first , it reminded me of number 23 but a bit more complex and artsy. I'm still contemplating if I'm going to watch it again maybe I missed something. |

^^ Great batch...(: I think Pi is actually my favorite Aronofsky film. Not a masterpiece by any means but still a very engaging and atmospheric watch.

Haven't seen Zack and Miri.
I like Seth Rogan but I really hate Kevin Smith, so I'll pass. |
