I think you may have to have a romantic bent to appreciate The Fountain. I'm not saying you don't but it definitely helps. The film doesn't look like anything I have seen before and it may not be perfectly delianated it however is the complete antithesis to the dirge that mainstream Hollywood usually serves up. The music, the cinematography, the sets- it's just a sublime piece of work in my eyes and it's a love story without the sentimental crap that mars many a film.

I am waiting to see if the longer cut comes out as it was originally about 3 and a half hours long and the DVD is heavily truncated. It's definitely on my list to watch for sure.
