I like the concept but jeez, do I dislike the early 90s indie look and amateur acting. I loved Linklater's rant about alternate realities in the beginning though. 5/10 Edit: Oh yeah, this is the second film I've seen set in Texas with no real southern accent (Dazed and confused being the first). Is it because it's set in a bigger city? It was a bit confuzzling.

These films focus on youth.
Most young people in America these days, scenesters especially, don't really have accents, most young people where I live (in Tennessee, close to Memphis) don't have southern accents. I'm one of the unfortunate few that do. I think it's because we pay more attention now to television and movies than we do our parents. |

I just watched Rachel Getting Married and Milk...both were great...Rachel Getting Married really captured the awkwardness of being an addict and trying to relate to your family.
