Just to comment on Roger Ebert- I honestly stopped listening to this guy when he gave Gladiator 2 stars. It's not brilliant, has it's flaws.... but it IS my favorite movie to date, so it was then that I decided to stop listening to this clown, because we just have different taste. (I too laughed when I saw 4 stars for Knowing- what kind of sexual favors did Nicolas Cage have to perform to pull that off?)
Anyway, I saw I Love You, Man over the weekend and I really enjoyed it. I saw a lot of myself in both Paul Rudd and Jason Segal's characters, so I thought overall it was very honest and relatable- which definitely added to the movie. Funny- I laughed a lot. Worth seeing for sho. |
Insomnia-
It was alright, a little bland. The Beach- Dumb, dumb, dumb. Their is no depth towards any character, and they jump around from sad to happy to crazy back to sad again all in the last 15 minutes. It seemed like a blatant rip-off of the book "Lost Horizon" just without any of the good stuff. |
Right about The Beach, wrong about Insomnia.

i agree, the Insomnia remake was brilliant (should point out I last saw it 3 years ago), any thoughts on the original?

You know, I hope this site never gets overtaken by pretentious film snobs who hate everthing American, like my other forum.
What are your thoughts on Amelie? |

We have some real tools on DigitalDreamDoor right now. Some Tark fanboys who have no respect for American cinema.
We also have this one guy, TheMuffinGod, what a f*cking snob he is, he called Amelie bad because and get this there's too much red and green. |

I'm watching Space is the Place this weekend and rewatching Wild Strawberries because it's been too long without The Big I.B. :pimp:
