Samantha Mumba is soooo not hot, I just don't trust her. Shifty eyes. You'd probably feel differently if you were spared the god-awful pop career from which she lurched forth into this sorry excuse for a movie debut. I don't think she charted in the US? I don't care?

I had no idea what this movie was about going in and I'm not going to give it away - but it deals with child abuse, parenthood and suppressed emotions all wrapped in a suspenseful, grotesque little package... So them's the themes. It's wonderfully acted (unlike Cronenberg's previous film Scanners) and like Videodrome I think it's dated very well, the budget restrictions aren't too apparent and D.C's infamous effects are consistently great - they would never invoke the same morbid fascination from me if they were rendered in modern CGI. His imagination never ceases to amaze me!

And er... this was another Youtube viewing I'm afraid. But honestly the quality wasn't bad compared to some of the stuff you'll dust off in the darkest recesses of the intarwub... Sharp as you'll find and the sound was great, not bad for £0.00
If you ever come across this anywhere buy it or steal it. A fascinating read.

Scorsese on Scorsese is damn good too. Glad you liked The Brood

Different strokes for different folks. And yes I am aware of her awful music career.

I saw Quarantine which I will have to watch again because I was cracking jokes the whole time of viewing.

I also saw The Midnight Meat Train, which was some weirrrrrd stuff. Really good suspense too though, fifty seven twists at the end though. Still a good movie, I'll go more into detail later.

Haha. My mom was just telling me about this movie a couple weeks ago.

I'll disappear again in a couple of weeks, I'm sure. But will be back for an MusicBanter binge shortly after, like always

Anyhow, I think the film was well done. Pi is one of those movies that is very raw, definitely indie, which I love. It's thought provoking, and touching in points as well. I think it's a film that has to be watched from a certain point of view, you know? The only real complaint I have, is the soundtrack.

Why? I thought the soundtrack was great and fit the movie really well.
