I'm not a fan of shake cinematography either but I wouldn't say that keeps it from being a great film, don't get me wrong I haven't seen it yet, but I do have high hopes for it, not so much for the hype as just the fact that I find Danny Boyle (The Beach aside) to be a very talented director.

Usual Suspects - ***

Entertaining film noir, I don't think it's the masterpiece many say it is, if only because that twist ending, as awesome as it is, does kinda make you feel cheated, but I guess that was the point. Kevin Spacey is awesome, his performance may be considered hammy by some, but I kind of see it as a homage to old actors in the film noir genre like Cagney and Mitchum. Not a whole lot going on in the character development department, but it's such a compelling story and entertaining film that it's easy not to really care.

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home - ***

Leonard Nimoy. Can be described with many words. Vulcan, Starfleet Lieutenant, Filmmaker, Poet, Musician, Photographer... Comedian? Star Trek makes an unusual turn towards comedy and actually it's one of the best films in the series.

good job, definitive cautionary comedy. I made some friends/morons watch it a while ago and they moaned about the pace (it IS 40+ years old) but Peter Sellers is utterly priceless. i love this cold war sh*t, it's always gonna be relevant. lav it
Great vocab in this scene- 'pranging', 'preversions'...

I just saw 'Control' on youtube. Great stuff. Got a question though..

after Ian passes out on stage for a second time, he feels like crap and is lying on a couch after the gig and his manager is sitting near him. His manager says 'it could be worse, you be the lead singer of the fall'. Why is that a bad thing? Did everyone hate the fall?

Watching a film like that (or any for that matter) on youtube is a crime. Shame on you.
