Sometimes critics fall in love with comedies that are too f*cking low key for their own good.

Case in point, Wonder Boys.

It's not a comedy at all. the whole film is about the 'small' moments. Maybe my affinity with the main character clouds my judgement a litle but I think the nuances in the film make it.

Now that's the category I'd nominate Sideways for!

Maybe the mistake was in how they marketed it. To me felt very middle-of-the-road and kind of similar to a lot of other movies. It wasn't a horrible movie by any means but I thought it was kind of forgettable. Another movie from the past few years that I'd put in this same category was Waitress.

The only scene I vividly remember is him screwing that chick and the husband comes home and Paul Giomatti has to go back and get something.

eh, there were some funny parts that made me laugh, partly because I saw that movie with a group of peoples, but if I had seen that movie when I was alone I could have sat through at not laughed at all.

Probably the biggest disappointment of last year. I was expecting to be wowed, all I got was an ok. 6/10

Bill Maher: If Santa Claus can hit every house in the world...
Steve Berg: No, we don't believe in Santa Claus.
Bill Maher: Of course not, that's one man flying all around the world and dropping presents down a chimney. That's ridiculous! One man hearing everybody murmer at him at the same time, that I get.
