In Bruges - **** stars
I just really liked this movie. Colin Farrell was great in it I thought. It was funny but kind of in a dark humor sort of way. I enjoyed the entire film and at the end you realize just how sad the story is. The International - **1/2 stars I'm not a Clive Owen fan and this film certainly didn't help. I think this movie suffered more from the direction than his acting, though. It was slow. Some people can pull off slow movies but Tom Tyker couldn't here. Clive was kind of a pussy too! |

No I agree, I don't like to watch movies with other people. Primarly because my family members have completely different tastes from me, we'll go see a movie, and they'll enjoy it, they'll laugh, they'll cry, and if it's a movie I don't like, I'll just sit there, expressionless, and it makes me feel left out. Vice versa when it's a movie I'm really enjoying but no one else is.
I also hate it when people loudly comment on movies while I'm watching them, primary reason I prefer to watch them alone. |

I'm watching Definitely, Maybe.

There Will Be Blood is brilliant. Since we were just talking about Kubrick a few pages back, it's worth mentioning that THAT movie was like Kubrick's ghost possessed PT Anderson and came back to make one last film (*shiver*). It makes me wonder what AI would have been like had Anderson directed it.
Watched My Name Is Bruce the other night. I'm a pretty big Campbell fan, mostly for the Evil Dead series. This movie was decent, but if you've seen the trailer, you've seen the movie. No surprises, and it pretty much flogged the same joke and winked at the audience about it to death, but it worked on a mindlessly, predictably entertaining level. |

Was pretty good, the 'real' main character reminded me of Syd Barrett when he got fat and shaved his head. The ending was pretty lame, but I like the whole thing about that poem by William Hughes Mearns which David Bowies Man Who Sold the World song was based on. So it was ok.
