Crash

I honestly don't remember who recommended this to me but it felt like I was watching a skinamax movie.

I see the artist merit that the movie was going for but it didn't do much for me.

Maybe I didn't understand the whole sex and car crash as a thrill ride feeling.

oh okay.

I will read the book now but I won't try to compare the two.

As I stated before, I don't like to compare two different mediums even if they are supposed to have the same story/plot.

This was actually a pretty ok film. I did find myself enjoying it in its entirety, the ending was a bit rushed however. So, the storyline sort of wavered towards the end, but all in all pretty good. One word of advice though, don't take your girlfriend to see this shit, Chris Hemsworth will steal her from the fucking screen, I swear, lol.

Best superhero movie since Hellboy II. 7/10

Scott Pilgrim has been on HBO a lot recently but i can't bring myself to watch it. It just looks stupid to me but I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I watched Salt last night and really liked it. I think Angelina Jolie was great in it and I really think she's a great actress and the perfect female action movie badass. The ending was great too. I missed the first 10 or so minutes but I caught the jist of what had happened and really enjoyed the movie

Yes! I love Life of Brian. I have lost count of how many times I've seen it.

This is one of my favorite scenes

and this one

Michael Palin shined...well, all of them did

I finally got around to seeing Skyline and I went into it pretty happy and thought it was going to be decent but as the film went on I started to lose hope.

Then they decide to end it on a downer. I normally don't mind downers but not for this film. it doesn't work out well that way.

hmm sounds almost like the last 15 minutes of Descent. You should check that one out.

Not the cave one but this one with Rosario Dawson.

The troll hunter

http://www.vtclive.com/images/film/T...r%20(2010).jpg

>> Trollhunter (2010) - IMDb

Weird film, a bit like Blairwitch Project only it's about trolls and is, strange as it might sound, a little more down to earth. This movie suddenly just appeared out of the blue in Norway, I'd heard nothing about it before it was suddenly in cinemas. It features 3 very well known comedians, one of them playing the troll hunter himself. Norwegians would undoubtedly think of this as a comedy. We like acting serious about stuff which is silly and there are a lot of in-jokes here too so it's peppered throughout with humour that may not be appearant to non-norwegians, but it might still be enjoyable for those approaching it more from the horror angle.

Not brilliant, but entertaining enough and it was fun to watch something with trolls in it (there's a lot of them in our folklore). It also does a pretty good job of showcasing the country we live in, despite it being shot mostly during rainy days ;)

the cover looks like something out of the PS2 game Shadow of the Colossus

might check out it out

'The Big Heat' - the movie revealed to me why people loved noir so much in the 50s. Lang is such an ingenious director, he just has such way of making so many details in motion to illustrate scenes coming to life. Honestly, he might just be in contendership to the best of all time, in my book.

that one had about an hour of pretty boring crap, though

i'd rather heartily recommend Ichi The Killer, by the same director

DoctorSoft 05-15-2011 09:35 PM

Weird, I watched Ichi and turned it off after like 20 minutes, it bored me. I should giv'r another go sometime.

I just saw scary movie 1&2 yesterday and it was so hilarious.
I swear Ana Faris looks like Emma from Glee.

FRED HALE SR. 05-16-2011 11:54 AM

I am number 4. Really sucked. Total cliche superhero movie. Guy has powers. Guy learns to perfect powers. Guy falls in love. Guy ends movie by beating nemesis. Total garbage, but that is kind of an insult to garbage.

Not half bad, but not half good either. It was like Legion meets Blade meets Underworld. I did enjoy watching Paul Bettany and Karl Urban (my future baby daddy) duke it out though.
Spoiler for Not a big spoiler:
And it was ever-so-slightly amusing to see Bill from True Blood be killed by vampires.

Loved it. I just got my own Netflix Instant for Wii today. Definitely going to be on a moving-watching rampage. This is the first movie I've watched on it, and I'm thrilled.

Ben Butler 05-18-2011 12:09 PM

Watched the whole collection of the Jackass films, absolutely hilarious and the stunts are crazy. 10/10

Paranormal 2 - Weird, not too keen on the Big Brother like film. It is just boring and not spooky at all like some people say. 1/10

Let The Right One In is a good film but it the narrative doesn't go into anywhere near as much detail as the far superior book.

Saw this for the second time recently. It's one continuous shot of the universe and although it is CGI, it is very well done with as much as possible based upon the Hubble telescope images. Fascinating watch. Journey to the Edge of the Universe | National Geographic Channel

For about the fourth time. The plot is just a flimsy excuse to have parkour up on the big screen but it is still entertaining than most blockbuster fare at a fraction of the cost.

the first two were watchable, but the third one was one of the lamest movies I have seen.

I honestly have never seen a Nicholas Cage movie that I have ever hated and this one was quite impressive. Not action packed per se but extremely well written (kudos to Jared Leto whom I have not seen with a decent part since "My So Called Life") as it describes the life of a weapon seller from the 1980s up.

I really enjoyed the movie myself. Jared Leto was pretty good in Requiem for a dream also.
