I'm struggling to make it to Thursday but doing good so far. I haven't been spoiled by Antman stuff yet. I'm going to see it Thursday night.

Spoiler for Ant Man 3 poster:

I ended up making it to see Ant Man 3 without being spoiled and I was super surprised. I usually tend to see the first showing of Marvel movies to avoid being spoiled by Twitter or a random comment on Youtube. I enjoyed it so much though I don't even see the hate and criticism that it's been getting. It starts off going full speed right from the beginning to give you that sense of urgency. It does have comedy elements as Ant Man usually does but I was there was a bit more. I definitely can't wait to see it again. Don't need to see it in theaters again but will definitely re-watch it.

Spoiler for Creed 3 movie poster:

I enjoyed Creed 3 and I didn't even watch the first two. The only thing that bothered me was the constant ageism going on. I wanted the antagonist to win so badly because of it and that's the only reason lol. I was rooting for him throughout the whole movie. Another great thing about this movie is the soundtrack. I went looking up the soundtrack to re-listen to some of the walk out music but ended up finding out that they gave J Cole free reign over the soundtrack and it's pretty good but like all of the songs aren't even in the movie lol. I just wanted to hear those two Nipsey Hussle tunes but had to look them up separately away from the soundtrack. Don't get me wrong the soundtrack is dope its just all inspired by stuff and I don't think I heard a single song from the soundtrack actually in the movie. I don't know if this was Michael B Jordan's directorial debut but I really like the little anime touches that he put into the fight choreography. I'm looking forward to seeing what other material he heads up directing and how his signature spin to directing will end up looking.

Quick reviews for every 2023 movie I've seen so far:

M3gan: 3/5 - Surprisingly hilarious. Really loses steam in the third act but a good time

Missing: 3.5/5 - Pretty much in full agreement with everything Frown said. Solid little concept mystery thriller, but nothing super special

Infinity Pool: 4/5 - Really fun time and held up by excellent performances by Alexander Skarsgard and Mia Goth. Greatly enjoyed the slow escalation into pure chaos

Knock at the Cabin: 4/5 - I could see how someone would think this is dumb as **** but I had a really great time with this. I am a sucker for single-setting concept thrillers that get started right away and never really let off the gas

Antman 3: 3/5 - It's whatever, you already know if you will enjoy this or not

Cocaine Bear: 2/5 - Kinda worth watching just for the ambulance sequence, but everything else is shockingly terrible. A movie called Cocaine Bear did not need an ensemble cast with 47839 characters

Creed 3: 3.5/5 - Good sports movie. Jonathan Majors is ****ing badass

Scream 6: 4.5/5 - Might actually be my 2nd favorite in the franchise. Just ****ing loved basically everything about this. Very close to a full 5 stars but a couple minor nitpicks keep it from the perfect score

Champions: 1/5 - I only saw this because I pay for unlimited theater tickets and I had some free time on a Saturday. It is really bad

Shazam 2: 2.5/5 - Just like Antman, it has some fun comedy but is otherwise a pile of CGI dog****

Wife and I were bored last night so we found out a theater near us was playing Garden State. It was cheap and we thought it'd be fun to see an old film.

What a terrible f*cking movie. I didn't realize how bad it was since the only time I saw it was when I was 15. Just awful.

I remember liking it at the time, but I haven't seen it since it was fairly new.

Love that movie, I went to a horror movie festival to see it when it first came out in either 06 or 07.

I only remember liking Garden State for the soundtrack other than that it was very meh.

I saw M3GAN with a discord watch party and it was hilarious to MS3TK it. The added commentary from us clowning on it made it way more enjoyable.

I got Knock at the Cabin spoiled for me. I still want to see it but I already know the general premise of it.

I really want to see Scream 6 but I'll wait til it's on demand. Wifey doesn't like horror movies as much as I do.

I have one of those unlimited passes too and end up doing what you do and seeing random stuff that I normally wouldn't pay to see. Might as well get the most use out of it.

I'm looking forward to see Shazam 2. I was supposed to see it last Thursday but plans changed. I'll probably go see a matinee showing of it some time this week.

I read the novel that Knock at the Cabin is based on ahead of time so I knew generally where it was going but still really loved the escalating tension. I bet you'll have a good time if you go in knowing what you're in for.

Scream 6 is a KILLER theater movie so if you can find a friend or anybody that will go with you it is so worth it. I went three times. I am kind of addicted to the theater experience lately

Shazam 2 is far from the best movie you'll ever see but it's worth just for some good laughs in the first half. Man does it fall off a cliff though in the back half when it's just Lucy Liu riding a bad CGI dragon for 30 straight minutes

I thought Knock at the Cabin was a huge letdown. Not much to it beyond what the trailer shows, plus the pacing and dialogue were wack af. It hits a few melodramatic moments pretty well but they overstay their welcome and just get tedious.
